Shijiazhuang is the capital city of Hebei Province，270 km south of Beijing, i.e less than 3 hours ride from Beijing. The city has a population of over 2 million. The downtown area is very crowded. It is a low-cost city, much lower than Beijing. Though Shijiazhuang is a new city, there are some ancient spots of interests around it. Big Buddha Temple, Cangyan Mountain (famous for temple on bridge), Zhaozhou Stone Bridge etc are all more than 1000 years old. The climate here is not mild, too dry and too many sunny days all the year round. It is very hot in summer (maybe 37°C at 1:00 in the afternoon ), but not very cold in winter ( 3-4degrees below O°C at midnight on average). If you want to know more, come and see for it yourself.
The full name of the school is Shijiazhuang Vocational Education Center (another name is Shijiazhuang Information Management College), at 369 Xinshizhong Road, located in the West New and Hi-tech Development Zone. It is under the leadership of Shijiazhuang Education Bureau.
The school covers an area of 66667 m² with floor area of 84000 m² in it. It has over 4200 students, more than 220 teachers and staff members.
The school offers vocational college education, 5-year college education for adults, common polytechnic school education, vocational school education and short-term training. The school has three departments: the department of electro-mechanics; the department of information management and the department of foreign languages. They provide specializations of numerical control application, electrical tech application, electronics and information technology, computer net working, computer multi-media technology, BTEC multi-media technology (British course), computer software, bilingual preschool education, design of decoration, vocational foreign languages etc.
